The Bendigo Hotel
Editorial
Constructed in 1911 and with a contemporary music history that includes ear- piercing punk rock, The Bendigo combines the charm of the past with the great music of today. There are dodgy cover bands and party nights with alternative DJs on the entertainment line up, along with sassy monthly Burlesque nights. The Bendigo also hosts women only events, featuring drag kings and lesbian singers and bands.
The hotel offers a main band room, comfy separate lounge bar serving great bistro food and a popular funky beer garden. Regular punters crow about the cold beer and down to earth non-gentrified pub atmosphere.
The bistro trades 4pm - late Tuesday - Sunday with a menu featuring $5 pizza through to $10-$18 fish/burger/chicken and steak dishes.
Door charges at The Bendigo range from $10-$15 for party event nights and a very reasonable $5-$8 for great live music and bands.
