Cavallero Cafe & Wine Bar
Editorial
As one of the first venues to pop up on Smith Street to challenge of the street’s reputation as a hangout for the down at heel and out on a limb, Cavallero has succeeded in bringing about a change to Smith Street that has so clearly caught on in recent times.
Simply by stripping back one of the many old Victorian shop fronts along here, Cavallero has helped turn Smith Street into a place where a new breed of cool folk congregate to quaff. A stark white interior does nothing to lessen the warm and vibrant vibe going on and serves more so to highlight the designer spectacles and deliberate hair-dos of the staff and customers alike. When it comes to the drinks list, take your pick.
Whether it is café latte or pinot noir, it comes with an accompanying menu of interestingly put together snacks and meals from breakfast to dinner and beyond. It’s all delivered with extravagant aplomb by a staff well versed in the subtleties of this weeks new look. A wall of oversized booths fit small groups and a communal table at the rear of the room suits a large group or multiple couplings. The front of the room is more café style with little tables and window facing stools, perfect for perusing the passing wildlife.
Cavallero is great for wine, food, coffee, people-watching and its modern styling – the perfect taste of a new Smith Street.
