Threshermans Bakehouse
Editorial
Situated in what feels like a converted barn, equipped with the essential high wood beam ceilings and decorative milk urns, is a bakehouse-cum-cafe that can satisfy almost every food want or need. Ever busy and completely no fuss, Thresherman's Bakehouse is a real local favourite. Grab your self-service cutlery and settle in at communal tables or at the wooden bar that runs the length of the dining hall. Alternatively on a fine day sit outside under massive umbrellas and watch the world go by. Either way you can rest assured that you are eating at one of the busiest spots in Carlton.
There are so many food options here that you may need a moment to decide. Is it a pie or pastie you fancy, or perhaps a slab of pizza? Are you tempted by one of the day's specials, such as chicken parmagana served with chips and salad, or the bargain three choice meal options where for $8.50 you can choose three dishes from the bain-maries that might include pasta or stir fry? There's quiche or freshly made sandwiches and soup of the day served with a crusty roll. Follow with a cake, muffin, slice or donut washed down with a coffee. Thresherman's is also licensed offering bottled beers and a small selection of wines by the glass.
