Tre Bicchieri
Editorial
If, like me, your Italian isn't too hot then this little cafe may seem a little intimidating at first. It isn't. Instead Tre Bicchieri is as warm and welcoming as its dark wood interior, and the small spattering of tables are invariably filled. Built-in storage shelves line the walls filled with mid-priced red and white wines, all Italian, available to take away or enjoy on the premises. Alternatively, sip a latte and snack on a pastry with the hiss of the coffee machine and clank of crockery in the background.
The small yet delicious menu is predominantly in Italian, but staff are on hand to assist. Breakfast on baked eggs with cherry tomatoes, pancetta and parmesan cheese. Snack on olives stuffed with fetta and tomato, sundried tomato pesto or antipasto sot 'olio. For lunch choose the zuppa del giorna (soup of the day) or pizza al taglio: pizza to the cut, or in better English, a slice of pizza. If you'd prefer choose the asiago cheese, prosciutto and olive oil pannini or the piatto di casa (dish of the day), such as antipasto sot 'olio with prosciutto and asiago cheese. Alternatively sip a glass of wine while enjoying the tre formaggi: three cheeses with muscatel grapes.
