The pasta is good but the gems of the menu are the house specials: capretto (a casserole of baby goat baked with potato, red wine and herbs), and the stocco (cod fish baked with tomatoes, potatoes and olives.) You need to order these dishes 24 hours in advance but the results are rewarding. Seafood is a strong theme on the main menu from the antipasto di mare to the fettuccine marinara and pescatora. The servings of pasta are generous, so choose the entree size. The scaloppini is also good, especially the Romana with prosciutto and sage in a Marsala sauce. Order a bottle of house wine: the prices are subsidised by the downstairs gaming rooms. Finish your evening with the home-made tiramisu - as the waiter said, "it's better than my Nonna makes, just don't tell her."

This is not somewhere we would previously have considered visiting however based on the CitySearch review we gave it a go. We were impressed. This is traditional Italian food at bargain basement prices. The restaurant was packed with local Italians and it felt like we had been transported to Italy for the evening. The regulars dress up for the occassion so put a little effort into your outfit if you don't want to feel out of place.
