Even though Melbourne has a long history with Thai cuisine, it is only in recent years that we are truly experiencing a wave of authentic and very good Thai restaurants. However, Ying Thai has been good for a long time. There is a reason why you see so many Thai expatriates at this Victoria Street eatery. Tagged onto the end of Little Vietnam you could easily overlook this small Thai diner. Those lucky enough to have found it come for the exceptional food. Be warned, this is Thai hot, not westernized - best to order a coconut juice to calm the palate.
