Kappaya announces itself as a purveyor of soul food, and for once this isn’t some wishy washy pseudo-hippy euphemism for boring old mung bean salad. Every morsel produced in this wonderfully inventive Japanese café/restaurant is a textbook example of culinary mastery. The flavours zing off your plate and the presentation is picture perfect. Beautiful, original and, best of all, silly cheap.
