Maid & Magpie Hotel
Editorial
The Maid has been a mainstay of the Adelaide hotel scene since it was first built in 1848, with the current refurbishment transforming what had become a rather shabby old watering hole. The makeover brings with it a new polish and shine befitting the iconic junction upon which it proudly sits. A bistro and a restaurant cater well to Adelaide's well-regarded food community, who are known to take immense pride in their locally grown and produced consumables. Likewise, the wine list is brimming with local product from South Australia's internationally known wine regions such as Coonawarra, the Clare Valley, the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, all of which are generally the better-priced option. If local is not your thing, never mind, there's a global-wide selection too.
The award-winning Maid Hotel is a step up as far as Adelaide pubs go. Inspired décor, exciting cuisine, a multitude of indoor and outdoor spaces, plus its city-edge location add to South Australia's growing reputation as a destination for easy access to affordable quality.

Absolutely the best pub meal I've had in years. Staff were warm, welcoming and knowledgable. Highly recommend an evening or afternoon in the delightful space they have created. Even smoker's areas are first rate. Many thanks.
