Finn MacCool's
Editorial
There aren't many Irish pubs that claim to be authentically Irish AND an historical landmark, but Finn MacCools has both covered. Sitting smack on the edge of the CBD, this hotel is half Irish pub and half trash'n'treasure collector's dream. Assorted bric-a-brac - maps, sporting goods, books etc - crowds the walls, so much in some places that you can't even see the walls, adding to the whole crowded, Irish pub feel just nicely.
With more than a dozen Irish and UK beers, including Harp lager, there's more than enough amber, black and blonde liquid to get your whistle well and truly wet. An inspiring addition to the beer-o-sphere is trusty ol' Magner's Cider. For all those Trainspotting fans, this pub is the perfect place to live out those Begbie fantasies. Of course, there ?s a full menu of food offerings to make sure you've got some to soak up that booze, lest you become the first one under/on/inside the table.
Of course, no Irish pub outside of Ireland would be complete without cover bands or live music. Weekend evenings will find punters dancing to U2 covers and the like. But Sundays see a more relaxed vibe kick in with traditional Irish folk tunes.
