There are French restaurants and then there’s D’artagnan. While there are French influences here, what D’artagan’s is really about is hearty, big flavoured food that’s done very well indeed. Not for the weight conscious, diners come here to indulge. Start with the chicken liver parfait with truffle butter and don’t look back. Black pudding and lentils, pappadelle with braised rabbit and oven roasted beef fillet and braised beef cheeks give you a hint as to the weight of these dishes, however, even the lighter options live large.
