Cathedral Hotel
Editorial
Even in a city renowned for its historic pubs, the Cathedral Hotel stands out from the crowd. Home to a cafe, bistro, bar and beer garden, there's plenty of variety on offer and a room for any occasion. The hotel has been renovated extensively in recent years and offers a comfortable mix of old and new. Basically, the classic fittings, wall ornaments and the like, have been paired with contemporary touches to great effect.
The front bar is the main focus of the venue and offers a classic brass and wood approach to decor. Drop in during the day and it's old timers perched on their regular stools. Things get decidedly more cosmopolitan as the evening progresses and the venue attracts a good cross-section of professionals and local punters out for a drink. On that note, the alcohol selection is what you would expect from an Adelaide hotel. There's a strong focus on regional wines and a good selection available by the glass. Alternatively, you can opt for a beer or whatever your favourite spirit happens to be.
With live entertainment on weekends, a great beer garden and a friendly, robust crowd, Cathedral Hotel more than holds its own.
