There's no doubting, the Irish really know their drink. Guinness would have to be the most well-known stout the world over, and they're non-too shy of letting you know it. It's all in good fun, of course, but if you don't keep up, pint for pint, then you're as good as wet washing. And Mick O'Sheas is the perfect place to keep yourself in peak drinking fitness. Proudly Irish and fiercely patriotic, this pub has a great bistro menu (steak and Guinness pie being a favourite for lunch), a good share of entertainment for all the family, and all with a little gaming thrown in.
Naturally, you'll want to bookmark this place in your GPS (we're all so modern now, aren't we?!) for those St Patrick's Day celebrations. The day kicks off early - with a pint of Guinness, of course - with activities for the whole family. This is also the day when the honour list of the 100 Pint Club get to strut their stuff. Of course, there are other Irish beers and ciders to see you through if, God forbid, you get tired of drinking the black liquid. For the weak hearted, there are Australian beers and the regular list of boutique beers.
Mick O'Sheas also gets a lot of action over the warmer season, with heaps of outdoor seating and heating to keep you and yours happy. The pavilion outside is popular anytime the weather is fine. Just get in early on a weekend if you want to guarantee you aren't standing up all day.
