Lotus Lounge

Oriental throughout and kitschy all over.

Editorial

Tucked around the corner from one of the most cosmopolitan streets in Adelaide is a cute retro chic cocktail lounge that offers a list of over fifty classic and exotic cocktails between $10-$35. The wine list is less extensive, however, but by no means shabby. Local and imported bubbles, red and white wines and fortified wines range from $7-$10 by the glass and start at $30 by the bottle.

The Lotus Lounge is set around a lovely courtyard that features a delightful little tiki hut with oriental furnishings throughout and kitschy effects all over. With neighbouring Gouger Street setting a cracking cultural pace for this neck of the woods, the Lotus Lounge is ideally positioned to absorb all of the flavour that emits from the diverse and eclectic range of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs that call nearby Gouger Street home.

Of particular note, operating as a core feature of the area is the famous Adelaide Central Market, suppliers of produce to local foodies and gourmets. At the other end of the scale, and at the other end of the street, just around the corner from the Lotus Lounge, is the notorious and infamous Mars Bar, a late night place of certain repute and certain club-land cache that would be perfect to stumble upon after several aforementioned exotic cocktails at the Lotus Lounge.
