The Queen has laid down her arms and in their place is a salvo of fresh, challenging hits to the palate. With artful touches to the interior and the menu, The Hotel Wright Street is open for business. Reviews thus far have been just short of rave for this new nook in the city. At the time of writing, it’s a hunger for novelty that is packing them into to a pub that “rediscovers” pub food. It’s also a newly acceptable thirst for cider that pleases some with apple-pride loudly celebrated at the bar. The place looks both immensely promising for a long-term success and completely of-the-minute. Now, if someone would tell them to send the potato-wedges with sour-cream and sweet chilli sauce back to 1993, we could all dig in.
