Grace Emily is not the kind of bar you’d come to for cocktails and canapes, let's just get this straight. It’s beer, wine and spirits here, all at good pub prices.

Editorial

Grace Emily's inconspicuous, non-pretentious exterior may not be enough to grab your attention the first time, however, once you have discovered it, you realise its jewel is not kept in its facade. It is one of the few, if not the only bar left in Adelaide to provide an incredible range of live music every night of the week.

The bar is decorated with oodles of kitsch paraphernalia. All the items you'd recognise from childhood days spent rummaging through Nan and Pop's cupboards. Old pub signage, that would predate most of the regulars, illuminates the front bar, giving it that warm cosy feel that almost all new bars are seriously lacking these days. In a nutshell, it's like tripping back to the '70s, only without the cloud of tobacco smoke lingering above the heads of men wearing checked flannel shirts. Well, maybe there are still a few flannel shirts hanging on.

The place really is as cool as a cuie. It is a major supporter of live music in Adelaide and hosts many local and interstate musicians.

Grace Emily is a wonderful place to relax with a pint, play a game of pool and experience Adelaide's live music culture at its best.
