In the eighties there was an abundance of fancy Chinese restaurants. That was before it became hip to dine in quirky, over-lit and unbearably noisy and cheap Chinese diners. It has something to do with being ‘authentic’. However, at Concubine sit back and get the best of both worlds. This classy establishment takes itself seriously. From the white tablecloths to the service, Concubine is about standards. This translates to the menu too. It is not chicken and corn soup, but rather, Barossa free range chicken and sweet corn soup. They haven’t won Adelaide’s Best Chinese restaurant for two years running for nothing.
