Cocolat
Editorial
Chocolate has long been synonymous with sinful indulgence and guilty pleasure. With the opening of Cocolat (pronounced cocoa-lart) on Rundle Street, chocoholics can now satisfy their sweet tooth among a host of like-minded patrons and dispense with the pangs of guilt once and for all. Chocolate brown carpeting runs the length of the cafe; plush, cushioned chairs surround tables dressed with milky white table cloths; vanilla walls are graced with decadent photographs of chocolate treats - all combine to create an atmosphere of dreamy indulgence.
The fourth venue to open since its early beginnings as a chocolate retail store in Balhannah, Cocolat on Rundle Street offers everything from handmade chocolates and wicked, single-serve cakes and mousses to full-on desserts with all the trimmings. Fully licensed and open until late on weekends, Cocolat takes full advantage of the busy Rundle Street traffic, catering to weary shoppers who need a pick-me-up, late-night diners who are up for something quick and delicious in between bars, and the after-dinner set who are looking for something sweet to finish on. Try the split bananas served with cream, gelato, rich chocolate syrup and nuts for an old-school treat.
