Church
Editorial
Turns out you can cram a nightclub into almost anywhere these days. Take Church for instance. It's housed inside an old Synagogue. How many other venues can say that? Hidden down a side street, Church may look imposing from the outside, but don't let that put you off. This multi-purpose venue incorporates several different areas and has a little something for everyone. The mainroom plays host to top 40 tunes and commercial club tracks, while there's a separate R&B room upstairs. A chillout lounge can also be found towards the back of the venue.
The actual venue is quite swish and retains much of the charm its former life suggests. The ceilings are high and the decor and fittings are all beautiful. When the club lights are throwing shadows across the room and the place is heaving at 1am it's quite a sight. It's certainly an interesting contrast between old and new.
The drinks selection is what you'd expect to find in a nightclub and focuses on beers and premixed spirits. Fridays offer discounted drinks for those who aren't particularly fussy about what they ingest. Amusingly, there's a photo booth located underneath the stairs so punters who may have had 'one too many' can capture the moment for prosperity.
