Chianti Classico

places|sa|adelaide|chianti%20classico
Chianti Classico began life in 1985, as Chianti, a trattoria-style restaurant in Light Square. It was pizza and pasta and wine. Family operated, the atmosphere had a kind of piazza-like festivity to it and that mood continued when Chianti moved to Hutt Street in 2000.

Some of the other comments here sound fabricated. I've been to eat at Chianti about 200 times over last 10 years and have never seen flashing lights, and they haven't done pizza since the 90s in Light Square. Anyway it's doing me a favour if these reviews put people off as then I can get a booking! Yeehah! As for expensive, are you comparing it with McDonald's or other restaurants in Oz?? For genuine readers the reasons to go to Chianti are the family who run it - so friendly and caring, the Italian inspired dishes - veal and seafood etc as well as pasta dishes like the sublime duck pasta and the crab linguine, top notch coffee (equal to best in Adelaide), Italian wine list from nearly every recognised wine growing area in italy, white starched tablecloths and napery (albeit with a paper overlay on table), inspired breakfast menu, best in Adelaide in my view. ttfn.
