Cargo Club
Editorial
Finding a club with a late license may not be a rare thing on Hindley street, but when you do find the holy grail, you'd best drink from it. And so it is that Cargo Club has held sway over the area for a few decades now. One of the longest standing in this competitive arena of late-night drinkeries, dens of debauchery and churches to the gods of dance.
The interior of this venue is pretty much par for course when you're talking about nightclubs. Modern design meets a retro-space age salvage ship, as long banquettes (pink!) offer space for large groups or couples to park and take in a few Jager shots before hitting the dancefloor.
And to help you carve up the dancefloor, resident DJs play a mix of commercially friendly top 40, house, funk and retro tunes. While you won't get any banging Chicago house scaring people back to the bar, you will hear plenty of tunes you know - which makes it easy to bust out those dance moves you memorised from Video Hits.
Speaking of which, the bar stocks all manner of bottled drinks. From local and imported beers to pre-mixed drinks and basic spirits, the prices are aimed at those who usually frequent nightclubs, but you may want to look elsewhere if you want a bar that's easier on your wallet or purse.
