Winner of the 2007 Restaurant and Catering awards for excellence for Best Restaurant in a Pub/Tavern/Club, Sticks underlines Chalk Hotel’s high level of style and sophistication. The five-star service is accompanied by a home-away-from-home ambience, with LCD televisions screening the likes of Monty Python – yet at other times simply screening relaxing footage of aquariums. Customers are invited to feel comfortable – a sentiment encouraged by the kids eat free nights and kids club on Saturday and Sunday mornings, during which the little ones are entertained by a blue-card holder while parents enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch.

The refined ambience of the contemporary restaurant offers a choice of indoor or alfresco dining, with a private dining area available upon request. Ciabatta loaf is soft and chewy accompanied with chick pea puree, parsley, dukkah and olive oil as a starter, while king rib pork cutlet is a popular hearty main. Sourced from Barker's Creek in Queensland, the pork cutlet has a German touch coming with creamy potato mash, grilled pear, seeded German mustard and sauerkraut. To start the day, the athlete's breakfast can't be beaten, boasting bircher muesli, fresh juice and poached eggs with ham, mushroom, avocado, roast tomato and wholegrain toast. The outdoor seating is an oasis with trees and pot plants separating diners from the bustling sidewalk of Stanley Street.
