A vacation in Italy-inspired Bella Della Spaghetti Casa restaurant in Woolloongabba is heavily frequented by curious clientele looking to sample the divine spaghetti.

Editorial

The simple interior, intimate seating arrangement and pleasant staff assure this delicately decorated little restaurant is well-received by patrons. The focus is on spaghetti and pasta, and outside this realm there are simply salads, risottos, bruschetta and desserts. Being truly dedicated to these traditional fork-twirling dishes means sourcing only the freshest ingredients and home-made pasta, which Bella Della takes pride in pursuing. There aren’t as many options as you’d find on a menu in Italy but Bella Della’s spaghetti styles are rich and varied. For those who are gluten intolerant, most dishes can be made gluten-free upon request too.

The poached bugtail, baby spinach, Avruga caviar, garlic, white wine and cream spaghetti is light in flavour and simply delicious. The ox-tail spaghetti, cooked for over six hours, is a standout too. However, the signature dish springs from the dessert menu and is, in fact, the tiramisu. Made to order, it’s Bella Della’s own take on the traditional sweet treat, with the biscuit fingers drizzled with coffee and Frangelico mascarpone just before serving so the texture of the biscuit is still crunchy. The hand-picked wine list was chosen with economic reasoning, but nonetheless good quality. There are cheese platters to share and a kids’ menu complete with bolognaise for the little ones. BYO wine is optional and the corkage fee is given to the Braveheart Foundation.

Overall, the wine list was affordable and both the red and white wines were lovely. The food prices were fair considering the portion sizes and everyone was pretty happy with their main meal. The staff were friendly albeit a little inattentive and the wait for our meals was not unbearable. I would recommend going in a large group so you can create your own noise, ordering the tomato Bruschetta, mushroom tortellini and skipping dessert. After much deliberation, we give Bella Della Spaghetti Casa 2 and a half stars (out of five :P)

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening with our friends. This was our first visit and would definitely be returning . We all ordered a different dish and they were totally amazing and absolutely delicious. We ordered entree sizes and they were more than enough to eat. The tiramisu and gelato were a knock out. The prices were good. The staff were friendly and our orders for our meals were taken promptly and we didn't have to wait long for our meals to come out. Congratulations !!!!
