Regatta Hotel
Editorial
While it may seem more sport oriented than you'd care for, the Regatta Hotel actually has more entertainment options than Disney World. Well, there may be clowns strutting about in costume, but that's about all they have in common. What you will find at the Regatta is a host of eating and drinking areas, all featuring some hefty dancefloor entertainment, with various eating options thrown in. Of course, this wouldn't be a sporting pub without betting facilities, which they have in spades.
Each night of the week features a special or theme of some sort. You may want to check before you head out if you're not keen on a Uni crowd, but if you don't mind who you rub shoulders with, or who you bump into on the dancefloor, then you'll find most nights quite pleasing. There's also a range of drink specials across the week, so you can even manage heading out most nights of the week on a budget. Those boutique beers don't come cheap, so save your pennies where you can.
And if you're after a little more refinement, nick into the al fresco Boatshed restaurant for a proper, sit-down meal. The tiger prawns wrapped in wantons are a treat, as are the Wagyu steaks (if a little pricey). Or you can take a seat along the footpath and watch the world go by as you sink those pints.
