The Point Restaurant and Bar
Editorial
South Bank is a fantastic spot as summer moves in. By day it is teeming with life, international tourists, students enjoying time off before uni kicks in, and indeed well-seasoned Brisbane locals who enjoy what South Bank has to offer. There are many places to choose from when dining in this area and, to their credit, there are many that do well. The Point Restaurant and Bay is no exception and would definitely be classed as one of the better venues among this good bunch. The design of the restaurant has definitely been done with Queensland's weather in mind. The two storey restaurant has both inside and outdoor dining, where space is a creative feature.
The team exerts a passion for both food and service, and the staff are competently educated on both cuisine and wine. There are many great selections on the menu such as the highly recommended seafood paella which brings a welcomed Spanish influence to the fare. Fresh and locally sourced seafood, prawns, scallops, mussels, clams and fish are tossed deliciously with a saffron pilaf. For lovers of steak there is an Angus eye fillet cooked to your liking and served with creamed potato mash, onion confit, a blistered tomato and port jus.
