South Bank Surf Club
Editorial
Ben O'Donoghue of Surfing the Menu fame has set up shop on the Brisbane shores of South Bank. He is offering the signature 'Brisvegas' mix of seafood and sunshine with a relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for long summer lunches. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, South Bank Surf Club serves simply executed dishes that focus on freshness and flavour.
The avocado on Turkish bread with herbed vanilla buffalo labna would start off the day perfectly for breakfast. Gold Coast prawns can be ordered by the kilo for lunch if you are dining with friends, or there is an entire seafood bar to feed those with a crustacean persuasion. The weekly specials often feature a fantastic mix of fish curries, jambalayas, and vegetarian dishes which will make for a hard choice. The service is friendly and attentive and their recommendation of the wasabi prawns dressed in red papaya, watermelon and coriander sauce was greatly appreciated. All the food is sourced locally and sustainably so you can eat guilt free and enjoy a restaurant that has effortlessly captures the Queensland vibe and palate. Now if only Ben made a more regular appearance for the ladies…
