Gambaro Restaurant
Editorial
If you have been in Brisbane for any length of time you will have heard of Gambaro, especially if you are a lover of seafood. Gambaro is to Brisbane what Doyles is to Sydney - a seafood magnate with multiple outlets offering cheap take-away or ritzy glamour in the restaurant and MG Bar. Petrie Terrace is full of trendy pubs and eateries, including Gambaro's flash bar overlooking the action. Tucked away behind the bar in secluded comfort is the restaurant's glamorous dining room. Oozing style and class, Gamboro serves a serious attitude to seafood with professional and friendly service.
The menu offers some interesting traditional seafood favourites, like the old fashioned crab bisque laced with brandy; or the avocado crab mornay. Oysters are a star feature with the standard natural and Kilpatrick, plus the unique chilled oysters with tomato gazpacho and warm oysters with pancetta and sweet onion confit. Mains offer a huge range that will have any seafood lover's mouth watering. Before you fret too much about which dish to choose, try the Northern Territory baby barramundi, the Western Australian spiny lobster, or the Moreton Bay Bugs. For the landlubbers, an MSA grade sirloin steak will hit the spot.
