Fish Caf?? and Wine Bar
Editorial
The Fish Cafe is by far my favourite restaurant in Manly. It is relaxed but has a professional, efficient feel to it so that your needs are met sometimes even before you are aware of them. The ambience is sophisticated in a relaxed, down-by-the-seaside way, with polished wooden floors and casual furnishings opening out onto a view of the marina and Moreton Bay. As the name would suggest, the Fish Cafe serves predominantly seafood. In fact, it is part of a seafood outlet next door that offers take-away and fresh fish for those after a more casual lunch.
The menu offers a wide range of delicious fresh local seafood such as grilled snapper fillet atop sweet potato and kaffir lime mash, finished with a chilli caramel sauce; or Moreton Bay bug tails oven-roasted with sage and almond butter, served with smoked ham and green pea risotto. If fish and chips is all you're after then you may enjoy the Fish Cafe's unique take on this old favourite. It's the signature "beez neez" fish and chips of beer-battered market special with steak fries, Asian slaw and preserved lemon aioli. The extensive wine list has plenty of quality Australian drops to compliment the seafood and suit any palate.
