Butter Bistro
Editorial
Butter Bistro is located in the suave suburb of Kangaroo Point. Resting atop the cliffs lining Brisbane River, it attracts the high flyers with their flashy sports cars and city-view apartments seeking a bit of urban chic. It’s an upmarket restaurant that does not disappoint, with alfresco dining under the stars in the herb garden with a cooling river breeze; and a sleek bar bathed in the soft glow of chandeliers surrounded by smoky copper mirrors and heavy wooden tables. Attention to detail is of great importance for both front of house and in the elaborately constructed cuisine that changes regularly.
The menu is dripping with delectable morsels for the refined connoisseur. Try the Coffin Bay oysters served as a plate of eight with your choice of dressing – sweet Chardonnay or Japanese ponzu. For mains the chargrilled eye fillet, on potato rosti with spinach and a forest mushroom and truffle jus, is deliciously tender, but perhaps the grilled spatchcock with lemon pepper and french beans on a garlic pilaf is more tempting to your tastebuds. The choices are endless and a return visit is a must. Desserts are mouth-wateringly good, especially the dark chocolate parfait with Grand Marnier and white chocolate mousse.
