Hamilton Hotel

The perfect post-race destination for a cold beer and a good feed.

Editorial

The Hamilton Hotel is a bit of a landmark in the Hamilton area. Back in the day, it was the post-race watering hole of choice for pretty much everyone except the horses. Not much has changed since then, with the Hamilton still providing pub grub, cold beer and a spot of light entertainment every night of the week. Most of this happens in the main bar, with sporting action taking place in the appropriately named Racecourse Road bar.

A stack of comfy furniture offers groups, small and large, the opportunity to get together anytime for a good catch up. Bar stools and tall communal tables are here for those in the mood for a bite. But if you get bored with your friends, there's always the gaming room for a bit of slots action. Beers are the usual choice of reliables: Carlton Draught, Boags, Cascade and Stella to name a few. Pre-mixed drinks offer a fast alternative when the night starts to pick up, and a few cocktail might even be seen moving about the floor.

Outside, the lush, green beer garden is unique in the fact that it actually looks like a garden, as opposed to the cement ?gardens' you'll find elsewhere. And tree canopies, umbrellas and heaters give smokers respite from unfavourable weather during.
