Rics Bar
Editorial
It can be hard sometimes to sort the wheat from the chaff. Most of the time we have to compromise in order to get most of what we want, in the process getting a little of what we don't. Well thank your stars we all have Ric's Bar. Combining a kick-ass cafe (Fatboys cafe - with some of the best breakfasts in town), great cocktails and heaps of live music every night of the week, this bar is doing so many things right, you'd wonder if they're doing anything wrong (think about it).
When you're sick of the drudgery of Fortitude Valley (let's face it, it can be tiring sometimes), Ric's is a balls-out, rock'n'roll sight for sore eyes. As much as that metaphor doesn't make much sense, the booze and entertainment at Ric's does -basically, there are no pretensions here. Sweaty rock pigs rub shoulders with aging rocksters in a mosh pit of sinful dreams, orgiastic riffs and free-flowing booze. What more could humankind want? Did we mention 24-hour breakfast? Sold!
Climb on board any night of the week as Ric's puts on a pretty mean spread of meals - from pizzas and tapas ($4 on Tuesdays!) to their famous 'fat stuff' (nachos, Fatric's steak burger, Osso buco and more). And if you want to get saucy with your date, there's always a hefty cocktail list to get into. Try a Junglelicious - gin and Lemoncello mixed with muddled lemon and basil topped with soda - for a touch of social lubrication. Or maybe a Pimps Lunch - gin, Pimms and Chambord mixed with sugar syrup and dry ginger - for a luxurious and lazy afternoon session with your mates.
