Ric's Bar, Fatboys Cafe
Editorial
Ric's Café Bar has a long reputation as Brisbane's cutting-edge live music bar. Free live entertainment takes place seven nights a week, always featuring independent, original music. Touring acts do play, but the real focus is on supporting up-and-coming Brisbane music. Many successful local artists have cut their teeth at this iconic venue, including the internationally renowned Powderfinger. Indie and rock bands feature prominently as do these style of fans and patrons. Recent renovations to the stage and lighting have kept the Café Bar up-to-date, but it remains true to its original spirit by providing edgy contemporary music.
Ric's has a prestigious position on Brunswick Street Mall, one of Brisbane's busiest night-time areas. While Ric's provides the bar, beer garden and dancefloor, Fat Boys lays on the food. A full café menu is available, including inexpensive breakfasts as iconic as the venue itself. The “Butterfingers Brekky” is a nod to the band of the same name, just another of the many artists to have passed through this famous site. Ric's Café Bar is the epitome of Fortitude Valley cool. This is definitely the place to eat, drink and be seen for the musos of Brisbane.
