Luxe Restaurant/ Bar
Editorial
Laid-back, relaxed and good-humoured with a kick of low-key Valley trendiness, Luxe offers a daily serving of quality food. The menu flows from weekend breakfast to quick midday business meal, late lingering dinner and through an ever-available abundance of tapas.
Adding to the cruisy vibe is an open-air interior that spills from glass surroundings onto an alfresco dining area. It is a refreshing break from a sometimes pretentious area of eating houses. The traffic along the street provides visual entertainment while the palate gets its pleasure from shared plates of fresh calamari, giant grilled prawns, grilled asparagus and a few drops of chilled South Australian wine.
The brekkie will have you taking large bites out of toasted English muffins with smoked salmon, fluffy scrambled eggs and spinach. Lunch moves with you, quick-sticks or slow and lingering. Try the grain-fed sirloin with bacon, fresh horseradish and house jus. The season's freshest produce can easily be spotted in the dinner takings like the freshly-caught market fish of the day, served with a side of sauteed rosemary potatoes.
With its down-to-earth all-day dining manner, Luxe is helping James Street to keep its cool.
