Suck down a Peach Bellini before the outdoor movie screening as you watch the sun go down over Brisbane’s city lights at one of the best rooftop bars in Brisbane.

Citysearch® 2010 Best in the City Winner: Best Bar with a View!

On Tuesdays at this urban chic bar with its well-dressed waiters drifting around with plates of tapas before the movie screenings, you could forgive yourself for thinking you had woken up in an imperialist dream, just floating above the sultry Brisbane summer night.

The wine list is extensive and all the usual amber fluids flow freely. But it is the cocktail list that makes this bar a cut above the rest. I could stay here all night drinking these creations - they just don't seem like normal alcohol bevvies - they are too light, too refreshing. Summery fruity creations include effervescent delights like the Lychee Fizz - made with fresh lychee juice, lychee liqueur topped with sparkling. Or slink into a shady corner and sip down a Jade Martini with belvedere pure melon liqueur, St Germaine elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and Gomme, served martini-style. Divine decadence! Along with over 15 styles of Mojito, all the classic martinis, margaritas and cosmopolitans you could ever want in a bar.

All this high living will set the scene film screenings that will take you from the rooftop to movie-land. The rooftop bar opens at 5pm and the movies start at 7.30pm. Movie tickets can be bought online and cost just $12, making it a pretty luxurious AND inexpensive night at the movies. If you can't be bothered driving home, check into one of the Lime's exquisitely designed rooms.

Take note, the Lime Hotel has a dress code, so leave your singlet and Havianas at home!

I really enjoyed seeing a film at Limes, I was so excited when they screened Amelie, one of my favourite films, I invited my group of friends and we shared bubbles and tapas throughout the screening. I didn't have any issues with hearing the film and it was very cosy.
