Electric Playground
Editorial
As the former Planet Nightclub, this venue had a solid reputation for hosting packed theme nights, offering a quality selection of in-house DJs, and attracting a dance crowd pretty much devoted to fun. This new incarnation maintains the floor shine action but now has the latest interior design to match the latest in electro tunes. With a huge outdoor deck newly built - the first for a Fortitude Valley club - this venue can now take advantage of the balmy Brisbane nights, and can rightly claim to be one of the most comfortable clubs in town.
There's a great selection of local and import beers, standard mixers with some excellent vodkas and a few cocktail specials. The only thing to avoid would be certain theme nights like 'Student Keggers', a post-exam event. Any self respecting adult would best try elsewhere on these kind of nights, unless hanging with schoolies is your idea of fun.
The Electric Playground offers a strong DJ lineup with Wahoo, Kaardon, Karma and other oddly named young deckmasters gearing up the dance floor. The club mostly attracts a younger, fairly clean-cut crowd. Management seems to have abandoned their former 'anything goes' door policy, but they still encourage an older dance crowd as well as the kids - although with the new name, only time will tell whether the age bracket remains as broad as they'd like.

Fun club, great inside and outside areas with different music styles. Awesome drinks from experienced bar tenders and even better DJs with international and national shows pretty much every week.
