Quietly nestled away in a peaceful Chermside backstreet, a contemporary Italian family run restaurant with roots firmly planted in the art of traditional authentic cuisine is quickly earning a reputation in the hearts and tummies of Brisbane patrons. The restaurant does a simple-yet-lovely breakfast on weekdays, but truly works her charm at lunch and dinner times. Always a favourite, the flamboyant antipasto with in-house marinated vegetables, deliciously juicy olives and crunchy bread is the perfect beginning to the Italian feast. Freshly made pastas served in genuine Italian-sized portions include cannelloni ceppo (chicken, spinach and ricotta pasta tubes baked with a Parmesan crust) and heavenly oven-baked beef lasagne.
The striking wall-sized murals depicting quaint modern day Italia, with cobbled stone streets and breezy cafe scenes add to the charm of this relaxed, smart atmosphere. The main dish of prawn and mushroom risotto with fresh prawn cutlets, saffron, button mushrooms and pine nuts finished with herbs and Parmesan cheese is superb. Another Italian sensation, scaloppine al fungi can't be overlooked - its tender veal escallops, sauteed shallots and mushrooms are flamed with brandy and finished with red wine jus. The chef is somewhat of a genius with the tiramisu - fluffy layers of sponge cake with Marsala and coffee sabayon perfect for after, before and (dare I say) during a meal.
With alluring red, white and black interior, pleasant and passionate staff and exceptional Italian cooking, Bella Cosi is the Italian experience all over.

Great lunch, dinner menu, very traditional options which is great, love the simple pasta's, the sauce is to die for, good selection of wine, resonably priced.
