Zenbar

A chic and tasteful venue that will satisfy drinkers and diners alike. Weekends are a must for potent cocktails and plenty of eye candy.

Editorial

The minimalist décor of Zenbar belies its true nature. While block colours and clean lines may suggest a tranquil evening, there is many a crouching tiger and hidden dragon at Zenbar. Yes, you may arrive alone but chances are that you won't be for long, and what's wrong with that? Since when was a bar just about having a drink anyway? But drink you will, and whether your tipple is wine or inventive cocktails you won't be disappointed.

Station yourself either indoors on the black leather banquette or bold red chairs or make your way to the sun-filled courtyard which overlooks Post Office Square. An innovative cocktail list will take you a while to wade through, but try the Ko Phi Phi - citrus-infused vodka and lychee liqueur enhanced with freshly squeezed lemon, lime and cranberry juice ($15). More traditional cocktails also start from $15. The wine list is by no means extensive but certainly well rounded and thoughtful. Most styles are represented, with a price range to suit most budgets. Beers on the other hand abound, and although it's not an adventurous list with over 30 labels available, there is sure to be something for even the fussiest beer aficionado. A welcome surprise was the inclusion of Chivas Regal, a blended Scotch whisky that has made a comeback in recent times.

The staff are friendly and efficient, and a resident DJ on a Friday provides an extra element for office workers looking for an early start to the weekend.
