Located in the heart of the city, this is a great place for a coffee before work, a leisurely lunch or a smart dinner with friends.

Editorial

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane's well-worn streets is Venice, a restaurant that effortlessly conjures the charm of Italy. The riverside location of Venice allows you to arrive via a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk or, more ceremoniously, by ferry, which will drop you almost to Venice's front door. With unrivalled views over the river, diners are lucky enough to enjoy the spectacle of the passing boats and glimmering night lights while savouring entrees of seafood, char-grilled marinated lamb or seared chicken livers.

Each dish on the menu has been thoughtfully matched to a specific wine whose characteristics will serve to enhance the flavours of your meal. Mains feature a pan-seared chicken breast, ocean-fresh seafood, lamb shanks, pork and grain-fed eye fillet. A comprehensive drinks menu ensures everyone's tastes and moods are met, with plenty of wines available by the glass. An evening at Venice would not be complete without indulging in one of the restaurant's decadent desserts. Their signature after dinner treat, which goes appropriately by the name of Venetian Affair, is a beautiful way to end to the evening but if chocolate is not your thing then try the lemon curd tart with coconut ice-cream or savour a cheese platter accompanied by a liqueur coffee. Bon appetite!

I went to Venice for dinner with friends on a Thursday evening. It had a nice relaxing atmosphere (even though it was heavily raining outside and we were in the tent-like area!), beautiful colour and delicious food. I had the chicken with chorizo sausage with olives, tomato sauce and parmesan which was divine, and I also tried some of my friends' dishes - prawn & calamari in a creamy sauce and gnocci - each one very yummy! 9/10

Don't over eat because they don't give you the dessert menu until after you've had your main course & the dessert menu is divine!!!

The food here is divine, I had the pumpkin risotto, so creamy, and the staff were fabulous, perfect atmosphere, and lovely decor.

A hidden treasure. Great outlook, great atmoshphere and great service. The food was delivered promptly and am keen to go back and try some signature dishes as we only had the fish and chips for lunch. Though well cooked and fresh I will be more adventurous next time.

Went last night for our wedding anniversary. The view and atmosphere is wonderful. The food was very enjoyable. The service was the worst I have ever experienced.

Maitre d' & staff were courteous, hospitable & well-attired. From our window table for 3, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the iconic Story Bridge & Brisbane River at dusk with its ferries, launches & paddlewheelers. Commenced dinner with hot bread, herb butter, tapanade & canapés. Mains comprised assagi di mare (seafood platter); Atlantic salmon with zucchini, fennel & citrus dressing; and pepper linguini tossed with tiger prawns, snowpeas & Pernod cream. Indulged in Venetian Affair & Belgian Callebaut chocloate pave for dessert. Service was prompt & professional. Dishes were prepared & presented to perfection. A most delightful & memorable dining experience on 30 Oct from 6pm to celebrate our daughter's birthday.
