Port Office Hotel
Editorial
This grand old heritage-listed building has been a fixture of the Brisbane scene for many years now, and yet she's looking better than ever. A perfect example of how to blend period detail with slick, modern sensibilities and yet have the whole thing complement smoothly. The Port Office Hotel offers city slickers a wide selection of bars in which to while away the evening.
The Marble bar is as swish as the name suggests, with a slick central bar, ambient lighting smooth, sleek edges. It's always got a funky vibe and full of beautiful people. A handy and rather cute cobbled courtyard with banquette seating and dinky little tables allows some breathing space form the heaving crowds.
Fix Wine Bar, adjoining the restaurant of the same name, has a smoky jazz bar beauty to it, with dark polished floorboards, chocolate leather banquette seating and circular booth tables perfect for late night discussion. There's an exhaustive wine list and a thrilling array of cocktails too.
The upstairs Liber Lounge plays host to private functions as well as transforming itself into a club at the weekends. With quirky turquoise armchairs and access to the verandah, it's a great way to see out Saturday night.
