Apart from the obviously amazing views and its relaxed but formally modern facilities, what really makes this place is the quiet brilliance of chef Nigel West. Delivering a simple yet stylish menu, with a fresh is best attitude, his eye for detail does not go unnoticed. Nigel’s kitchen runs smoothly and staff are noticeably on the ball. A friendly, warm, courteous and professional attitude sees the restaurant live up to its five-star rating. For hotel guests, a 24 hour menu is available. In the restaurant, guests can make use of the private dining facilities, conference centre or simply enjoy a quiet meal in the open sunny restaurant.
The kitchen staff are happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and a gluten free option on the menu is also one of the most popular entrees. This slow-roasted quail with warm blue cheese, Spanish jamon and seasonal market greens is sumptuous. A vegetarian green pea risotto is also gluten free, and is divine with roasted peppers, orange peel, pine nuts and basil oil. For breakfast, the continental buffet can’t be beaten, with a spread of fresh fruits, toast, muesli, coffee and juice. The breakfast can be upgraded to include one of the many delicious hot breakfast options. High tea is available upon request at McMahon’s too.
