With over eighty international beers to choose from, and famous Australian bush tucker – there’s no need to leave Brisvegas for a rip-roaringly wild night out.

Editorial

With worn floorboards and a tiled bar there's something very traditional and 'old Queensland' about the Casablanca Café, Bar, Cellar Club and Restaurant. With a name like Casablanca though, you'd think there would be a Moroccan theme or something, but no, instead you get an eclectic mélange of influences wrapped up in a distinctly Queensland pub.

The Main Bar boasts Australia's largest selection of international beers (over 80 of them!), and I start to believe this when I read the list... Try the Svyturys Ekstra from Lithuania; Kross Pilsen from Chile; Lapin Kulta from Finland; Palma Cristal from Cuba, and Sarengeti Lager from Tanzania. Oh, and there's a Casablanca beer from Morocco - there's the Moroccan connection.

The cocktail and wine lists however were disappointing - fairly standard, uninspiring and non-eventful - they could stand to put some of that same imagination they used to curate the beer into the cocktail and wine lists for non-beer drinkers.

For dinner, try Australian bush tucker, including a divine fire-grilled herb emu steak that is 95 per cent fat-free and marinated in bush onion, sweet tree honey, ginger-root, wild garlic and lime.

The Cellar Club downstairs provides live entertainment four nights a week with a mix of Latin, World, Afro, Calypso, Reggae, Jazz, Funk and Soul, as well as Salsa dance lessons every Sunday night. This little hole in the ground has some serious history too; its walls are sandstone bricks laid by convicts in the 1800s.

And if you and the girls are looking for the ultimate girls' night out or hen's night, don't miss the Aussie Thunder Male Review. These guys are HOT. And when you've had enough of rippled six packs, chunky chests and tight bodies, the Casablanca is open until 5am, so make sure hubby doesn't wait up.

Casablanca Morocco was my favourite destination to travel to. Their soaked up atmosphere in traditional exotic Riads and feeling the peace of the brilliant starlight desert nights at an oasis in the heart of the sand dunes were fantastic. Last time I travelled there with my husband we went on a private tour through Morocco and discovered it's secrets. The Berber treasure family were great with providing tours all through Morocco. Next time we travel there will sure to check out more of the dining clubs that i've heard so much about. www.berbertreasure.com.au
