Belgian Beer Cafe Brussels
Editorial
The interior is traditional 1920's Brussels, with spectacular high ceilings, timber floors, rustic furnishings and décor in an art nouveau style with soft, warm lighting. Outside is there is a fairly standard beer garden, but it's nice to drink your Belgian beer outside on those balmy Brisbane nights.
All your favorite Belgian beers are here including Stella Artrois, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde, Leffe Brune and Belle-Vue Kriek. Make sure you try the 'Orval' - a traditional brew dating back to almost a thousand years; it was first made in 1,070AD. Or for something different, try the new-fangled 'dessert' beers - yes, there really is such a thing - the delicious Floris Apple, Lindemans Strawberry or Passionfruit beers.
The Beer Appreciation menu ($80 per person) includes Grilled Toulouse sausages with mash and a Dijon mustard sauce. Also try the steaming mussel pots served with beer battered fries and mayo, either in Provencale, Mariniere, Roquefort or Norweigan style with smoked salmon and mushrooms. And leave some room for a Belgian waffle or dark Belgian chocolate mousse - it's to die for.
If you're a true beer aficionado sign up for the beer appreciation classes and become a true beer connoisseur.
