Lido Woodfired Decadence The
Editorial
Lido is located midway down Racecourse Road in the leafy suburb of Ascot not far from the Eagle Farm Racecourse. It offers indoor and outdoor dining with tables spilling onto a balcony featuring trendy decor: think funky orange couches and walls decorated with purple cushions and motifs. The service is outstanding and all staff satisfy the wants of patrons with a genuine smile.
The menu features creative dishes with interesting names. There are some tasty entrees such as oysters, calamari and the Lido Plate (dips, hot tapas and other treats). Then there are the woodfired pizzas with names like The Three Tenors (pastrami, salami and pepperoni mingled with red onion, semi-dried tomatoes and olives), or the Holy Guacamole (tomato salsa, chicken and kidney beans, all topped with homemade guacamole, sour cream and corn chips). Mains include the delicious Lido’s Luscious Lamb (a lamb pie in a rich mushroom and rosemary gravy). After you have satisfied your savoury tooth, the dessert display cabinet has some dainty and downright delectable treats such as the coffee log (a tiramisu log clad in chocolate and moulded into a pyramid).
