Skycity Casino, Darwin's palace of high rollers, is chock full of bars. Something about drinking and gambling just seems to go so well together (just look at Vegas). Although I'm pretty sure you'll never see a Government advert with that opinion. Regardless, Cockatoo Bar is certainly the finest purveyor of alcoholic beverages on offer in this mecca of sin and debauchery.
It's all a bit classier than your average pokey pub for a start, and that's definitely a good thing. No one vaguely styley wants to hang around one of those musty old holes. It's not quite trendy town, but the brass and wood finish lends a more august air to proceedings. Cockatoo is also slap bang in the middle of the gaming floor, so you can easily shuffle backwards and forwards between the bar and the roulette tables.
One factor guaranteed to have you hitting the jackpot is the bartenders' uncanny knack for whipping up a tasty cocktail treat. All the old faithfulls are present and correct, and they're not too shy to go off the beaten track and concoct something a little more personal too. There's also a decent wine list and boutique bottles selection. Aces high all round!
