Yet another bar located in the monolith that is Skycity Darwin (because we need something else to do up here besides drink and soak up the sun) is Aqua Bar. The appropriately named bar is literally an oasis away from the regular casino environment, situated in the non-smoking section of the venue. We say appropriate because the decor is all swayed towards a sea-faring vibe, with aqua coloured walls (who would have guessed?!), sea coral-inspired carpet and burgundy furniture. You literally feel like you're under the sea, chillin' out with your crab and lobster friends ?? just like The Little Mermaid. Peer into the aquarium running along one wall (no, really) and see if she's in.
And you'll definitely be ?in the drink' after hitting the wine list. Each wine is available by the bottle or the glass (a nice surprise) and ranges from Brown Brothers to top-class wineries, such as Grant Burge (Barossa). Beers offered are the usual, refreshing drops: Stella, Leffe Blonde and Cascade Premium Light on tap, with a nice range of boutique beers by the bottle.
Or if you're in the mood, and lucky enough, to celebrate a win, you could indulge in one of the many top-shelf liquors and liqueurs offered by Aqua. A glass of Courvoisier VSOP cognac will help you kick it, gangster style. Or a more socially friendly bottle of Moet et Chandon will see you through the night as only Mariah Carey knows how. As you can see, you're spoiled for choice.
