Sienna Marina
Editorial
Situated across the road from Woolloomooloo's celebrated wharf, and tucked slightly under the wing of Sydney's foreshore and Botanical gardens, Sienna Marina does an admirable job of living up to the scale of increasingly glittering surrounds by maintaining its no-nonsense, Italian alfresco approach. This has worked for nine years, after all. The simple, almost spare design is non-intrusive and allows patrons to make the most of their surroundings by enjoying the genial atmosphere with drink in hand.
The beer and cocktail menu attest to Sienna's method. A range of international beers is a welcome start, with Peroni, Asahi and Tiger making some headway towards the crossroads of choice, where it comes to the serious stuff; the place where Famous Grouse, Chivas Regal, Old Crow and Canadian Club reside. There is also a punchy list of cocktails to push through.
The menu is a Mediterranean mix of pastas, seafood and steak. Steaks are served with a range of sauces that include white truffle, green peppercorn and red wine jus. And the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and served with Gorgonzola sauce is a worthy look in. The food is still good value given the location, and pizza remains the drawcard. It would be negligent not to mention the Nutella and strawberry laced dessert pizza.
The bar runs the length of the premises to allow for a more intimate setting should you so desire. A welcome stop in - you shouldn't need to bring your platinum card.

Great food and well priced. Unfortunately, the service has let them down somewhat, even when they are not busy. However, in saying that, they were considerate of my children!
