What’s that? You’d like a cacao martini and some low-carb tapas? Well, head up the road toward Oxford Street, son. We serve beer and beef and bonhomie, here. We’re untouched by the fripperies of the now. This is a wonderful place and speaks of Sydney as it might have been in the 70s. Or, the 1870s, for that matter. With its dartboards and darkness and feel of amiable privacy, the East is proof that the urban Australian pub does not live only in the Australian imagination. Try to score a seat by the window and talk, or drink, as little as much as you wish. And, if the fancy takes you, close your eyes jus a little and imagine a time free from wi-fi and contemporary worry.
