Small Bar
Editorial
With the evil empire of Sydney's draconian licensing laws finally losing its iron grip on the big city's bar scene, it's finally possible for small, intimate drinking holes along the lines of Melbourne's feted laneway scene to start popping up here there and everywhere. Small Bar, making no bones about its diminutive size, is proudly leading the way in this long-overdue revolution.
They say small things come in perfect packages, and that’s certainly true of Small Bar. The space is simply adorable, making the most of what it's got with a gut full of character and charm. Polished wooden floors, cream walls and a bright and airy feel make this the perfect spot to meet your best mates for a vino or two or three. A small selection of bottled beers is also on offer. And just when you think you can't squeeze in another soul, lo there's an upstairs area too.
Even better, there's a tasty little bar menu on offer up till 10pm every evening, with yum offerings including mini beef croquettes, parmesan mushrooms and a good old fashioned ploughman's lunch. This is definitely the sort of place you want to get up close and personal with your neighbour. Let’s just hope those actual neighbours outside don’t rebel against the new laneway laws.
