The perfect venue for outdoor socialising and networking.

Editorial

Sydney does outdoor drinking magnificently, and Quay Bar is no exception. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to beat it. Located at one end of the historic Customs House, there is an indoor café/bar which does, as it claims, embody a Parisian feel. Bevelled mirrors, high ceilings and dark wood floors do indeed bring to mind Paris bars. However, as previously mentioned, it's al fresco drinking you're after here.

The grand terrace is the perfect spot for business lunches and after-work drinks. A relaxed atmosphere complemented with the feeling of sheer expanse creates the sense that all is right in the world - in this part of the world anyway. This feeling is only accentuated by the attentive staff. All too often, outdoor wining and dining is compromised by a lack of service - not so here.

The staff know their wines too. While the wine list is in no way extensive, it is diverse enough to suit most tastes. Likewise, the cocktails are expertly made and the Breakfast Martini: Bombay Sapphire gin, citrus marmalade, Cointreau and fresh lemon juice is a joy. For larger groups, the Sangria jugs will have the party started in no time.

Quay Bar isn't lagging in the food department either. Reasonably priced, excellent food will sustain even the most fussy. Try the steak sandwich or the herbed crusted chicken schnitzel with fennel coleslaw. Delish!
