Hyde Park

places|nsw|sydney|hyde%20park
Named after Hyde Park in London, this is Sydney’s central open space closest to the CBD and the perfect location for anxious city slickers who like to experience the great outdoors with the hum of city traffic in the background.

Editorial

Because of its proximity to the CBD, Hyde Park is littered with city workers sprawled out on the grass in the warmer months, happily dozing for an hour before returning to cubicle life. Tree-lined walkways, themed gardens and numerous lawns make Hyde Park a great picnic destination. While it can get crowded, there are still plenty of quiet areas to enjoy a laid-back picnic. Hyde Park's historical muscle includes the Anzac Memorial, the Archibald Fountain and on the nature front, showcases the beautiful old Moreton Bay fig trees that Sydney is famous for.
