Bambini Wine Room
Editorial
Bambini Wine Room features one of Sydney's finest wine lists, so it's no surprise that it draws a rather well-heeled crowd. This cosy, intimate space is something beautiful to behold, and could just as easily be a bolthole on one of Paris' beautiful boulevards.
With ornate wall lamps, a sparkling chandelier and booths of plonk stacked high in wooden racks, this is a perfect spot to grab a Paris-style cafe table, either indoors or on the street, and take in all the wonders of pressed grapes.
Thankfully, with a stunning list that incorporates Australia's finest as well as international treats, the staff are not of the snooty "well, you should know" variety. They're fabulously well informed and welcoming with it, and will happily guide you to something that best suits your tastes. There are also some small but perfectly formed treats in the shape of Bambini's bar food - plump for the devilishly rich pate!
If you're not big on wine (and one wonders why you are here if that is the case) then do not fear, the spirit list is equally impressive with wonderful aperitifs, armagnacs and cognacs, and there's also a cocktail list taking in all the usual suspects, from Bellini's to Mojitos.
